Kael, Executive Director
Kael Marshall, LES is the Executive Director of Southwest Mothers' Milk Bank. He is a certified FDA Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in food safety, certified phlebotomist, and Lactation Education Specialist (LES). He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico. Kael’s skills in chemistry, botany, information technology, and farm management give him the foundation to run the operations of a milk bank. Kael is the second man to lead a mother’s milk bank in North America and the first to found and build one from its inception. He has trained with the Mother’s Milk Bank of Montana and mentored with members of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America. Kael is an enrolled member of the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma and a third-generation New Mexican. He is a proud Green Chile Creek, husband, and father of two breastfed boys.
Lindsey, Operations Manager
Lindsey Maurer, BSN, RN, LES is the Operations Manager of Southwest Mothers' Milk Bank. She joined the team in 2021 as the Donor Coordinator and has transitioned into her new role, caring for donors, outpatients, hospitals, donation stations, and day-to-day operations of the milk bank. She graduated from University of New Mexico with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2015 and has previously worked at University of New Mexico Hospital on the Labor and Delivery Unit. Lindsey is a lactation education specialist (LES) and is passionate about helping families through their lactation journey. Lindsey is a wife and mother to five wonderful children, all of whom were breastfed. When not at work, Lindsey can usually be found at home cooking, crafting, or in her ever-growing garden.
Melissa, Laboratory Manager
Melissa Frank is the Laboratory Manager at Southwest Mothers' Milk Bank. She joined the team in 2022 as a Laboratory Technician and quickly became an essential part of running the laboratory, ensuring that we provide the highest quality and safest milk possible to our recipients. Melissa has a husband and three amazing children, all of whom were breastfed. When Melissa is not at work, she loves spending time with her family--especially at Disney Parks.
